Mediterranean meatballs are one of my go to dishes for those busy weeknights. With only four ingredients, you can skip the fast food, and whip up a nutritious and tasty meal with ingredients you probably already have in the pantry!
A Savory and Simple Meal
Mediterranean meatballs are a favorite around my household for many reasons. I love them because they’re easy to make, require minimal cleanup, and are simply delicious! I could enjoy them with nearly any side dish such as spinach or cous cous, but my kids love them with hummus and pita bread! Typically my meatballs get served up with the hummus and pita bread, because as you moms know, if it gets your kids to enjoy a nutritious meal, then by golly you have to do it!
I love how easy these Mediterranean meatballs are to make. With pantry ready items and frozen meatballs, it’s a meal that will keep forever in your kitchen. You needn’t worry about having to cook it right after bringing the ingredients home from the grocery store, as they will keep for months in your pantry and freezer. Needless to say, this is a perfect dish to make on those nights when you’re pressed for time, and need a healthy meal.
Great For Parties!
Not only for weeknight meals, Mediterranean meatballs are also a great dish to serve at a party! It’s a fun twist on traditional meatballs and can be served with effortless sides such as olives, nuts, chopped veggies, hummus, and bread. Serve with a delicious glass of wine, and it’s the perfect easy breezy party dish to keep your guests coming back for more! (Which may or may not be a good thing.)
Mediterranean Meatballs Recipe
You will love how minimal this Mediterranean meatball recipe is! With only four ingredients, it’s amazing how flavorful the sauce is. I sometimes double the recipe and save half for another weeknight meal. Pop the extras into the freezer, and you have another go to sauce that is also great on fish, chicken, or even more meatballs!
For The Sauce:
- 1 can (13.5 ounces) fire roasted tomatoes
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 8 ounces jarred red bell peppers
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Dash of salt
For The Mediterranean Meatballs:
- 1 package (14 ounces) of your favorite frozen pre-cooked meatballs (I prefer Angus beef as they are most flavorful).

Peel and roughly chop garlic. Combine all ingredients for the sauce into a food processor (I love this mini processor found on Amazon here). Blend until slightly chunky. The consistency should be similar to cottage cheese. (Blend longer if you prefer a smoother texture).
In a sauce pan, lay frozen meatballs and cover with the sauce. Cover with a lid and heat on medium low until the meatballs are fully heated through.
Serve with your favorite side dish. Enjoy your Mediterranean meatballs!
